No visible entrance. A broken ring, not a chamber. The road took the south bank and rebuilt the edge. The fort lost its boundary but kept its shape. What is missing is the part people stopped seeing, not the part that never existed.

Internal diam. 22.5m E-W, 21.3m N-S Cloghaunnanoon/Clochán na nUamhan: This roughly circular ringfort is situated in the low-lying crescent of land that surrounds Smerwick Harbour, about 100m N of the early ecclesiastical site at Reask (KE042-060001-). A close inspection of the remains is difficult due to a dense cover of ferns and briars but 2 hut-sites are visible in the interior. The enclosing bank is a maximum of 1.3m high externally, .5m high internally and is c. 3m wide. The high stone content in the bank suggests either that it is the very ruined remains of a stone wall or that it consisted of an earthen bank revetted with drystone masonry, now collapsed. The probable line of the inner wall-face is shown as a broken line on the accompanying plan. The roadway skirts the S side of the enclosure and the bank has been removed in this sector which is now bounded by a modern wall. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
