EXCAVATION SITES

EXCAVATION SITES, CF 19 & CF 25, MEDIEVAL RUBBISH PIT, Post-Med. rubbish pits, features etc

What is recorded here

Two medieval rubbish pits in County Antrim still hold forgotten kitchen scraps and broken tools. They are not grand chambers, but ordinary human debris dropped repeatedly until it became a pit. That repetition is the history.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as EXCAVATION SITES - CF 19 & CF 25 - MEDIEVAL RUBBISH PIT, Post-Med. rubbish pits, features etc. Recorded period: MEDIEVAL; POST-MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
