Excavation

Excavation, miscellaneous

What is recorded here

Six pits and twelve post-holes, some of which contained burnt stones, charcoal and cremated bone, were excavated here as part of the construction work associated with the Greystones Southern Access Route (Excavation Licence 04E0403). The excavator suggested that these remains may be part of a more substantial structure, which may extend beyond the limit of the road take. (Wiggins 2007, 489).
