Excavation, miscellaneous

What is recorded here

Following a monitoring programme on the N28 Cork (Bloomfield)-Ringaskiddy road scheme, a test-trench revealed a small stake-hole and a shallow pit with a silty, charcoal fill. Though undated, it was, according to the excavator (Hanley 2004, 10), suspected to be of a prehistoric date. (Hanley 2004, 10; 2007, 45-6) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
