Estate Cottages at Castle Madoc stand in Powys as Post Medieval buildings where local people likely lived, worked and endured weather together. They are not a grand castle or public attraction, but small human rooms set inside a larger estate, perhaps belonging to farmers, servants or keepers whose names never reached a record. Whatever they contained, it was ordinary life made visible through walls, hearths and doors.
