Esgair Maen Gwyn (Scimitar Ridge) is a sea cliff composed of Silurian greywacke, formed around 440–420 million years ago through sedimentation and subsequent lithification in a deep marine environment. The ridge is notable for its striking scimitar-like shape and its exposure of durable volcaniclastic rocks that contribute to the rugged coastal landscape of northwestern Wales.
