This blue commemorative plaque records: Fleece Inn. On this side of the archway, 18th century; on the other, 17th. At the rear from 1900-1902 was the workshop of Ernest Gimson and Ernest Barnsley, Cotswold architects and designers Recorded plaque organisation: Cirencester Civic Society.
Ernest Gimson and Ernest Barnsley were influential British architects and designers associated with the Arts and Crafts movement; their workshop at the Fleece Inn in Cirencester was pivotal for developing distinctive Cotswold furniture and architectural styles.
