ENCLOSURE: LISS-CHACHA-NA-THOUYA or FORT OF THE MOURNFUL BATTLES in Knockan

Liss-Chacha-na-Thouya, the Fort of the Mournful Battles, still holds its shape in Knockan, though no date or deed survives to explain the blood it drank. The name itself is a wound repeated: chacha, mournful, thouya, battles, as if the land learned grief before it learned speech. Perhaps soldiers fell there in rain so thick the earth drank red and forgot their names. Perhaps a mother walked the ridge after every storm, listening for drums that never came. The enclosure does not argue with either memory. It waits, packed and silent, for the living to carry what the dead could not.
