Enclosure in Scarteen (dunkerron South By.)

Within a field system (KE083-023002-) in rough hill grazing on a terrace on the S-facing slopes of Knockleama with a view across the valley of the Blackwater River to Kenmare Bay. A roughly circular area (8m E-W; 7m N-S) defined by a roughly built drystone wall (T 0.7m; H 0.8m), the upper courses of which have collapsed especially at S and SW. The level interior, in pasture, is raised (H 0.5m) at S to compensate for the hillslope. An enclosure (KE083-023019-) is c. 16m to the SW.
