What is recorded here

Enclosure in Rathmore North is a vanished sub-circular depression, thirty-five metres long and seventeen wide, truncated by a field boundary and now invisible beneath improved pasture. It sat three hundred and thirty metres east of a watercourse, immediately south of the Cloghnamagh boundary, with a ringfort crouching two hundred and sixty-five metres to the southwest. The shape survived only in a 1897 map and a 1984 aerial photograph taken for a gas pipeline, suggesting people once drew a line around life itself before forgetting the name of what they kept inside.

In improved pasture 330m E of a watercourse and immediately S of townland boundary with Cloghnamanagh. Ringfort (LI031-036---) lies 265m to SW. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a sub-circular-shaped depression (dims. 35m NE-SW; 17m NW-SE) truncated at N by field boundary running E-W. Identified from examination of aerial photograph (BGE 1:5000 No. 43) of the region taken on 03/11/1984 associated with Bord Gáis Éireann Curraghleigh West-Limerick pipeline.
