What is recorded here

Enclosure in Rathmore North is a sub-rectangular earthwork measuring forty-five by thirty metres, hidden in flat pasture near Cloghnamanagh. It appears faintly only in some satellite images while resisting others, suggesting the land itself decides when to reveal its shape. A standing stone and ring-barrow nearby imply this was once a place of gathering or ritual, now reduced to a shadow in grass that most drivers never see.

In flat pasture 40m SW of the townland boundary with Cloghnamanagh and 825m NW of the Morningstar River. Standing stone (LI031-034----) lies 225m to NNE and ring-barrow (LI031-032----) lies 365m to SW. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. The enclosure is not visible on OSi orthoimages taken 2005-12; it is faintly visible on Digital Globe orthoimages taken 2011-2013. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 75: AP 4/3647) as a sub-rectangular enclosure orientated NE-SW (ext. dims. c. 45m NE-SW; 30m NW-SE). The earthworks are not visible on Google Earth orthoimages taken 05/04/2006; 16/03/2016 and 28/06/2018.
