Thirty-seven metres of raised earth still stands in Rathmore North pasture, waiting for footsteps that stopped coming centuries ago. O’Kelly measured the circular platform and eastern ramp in 1944, proving the shape was made rather than merely remembered. Trees have since entered the ancient line, softening its edge but not erasing the choice of people who built a round room open to the sky.

In pasture, 325m NE of a townland boundary with Rathmore South. Enclosure (LI031-140----) lies 285m to E. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork (43m NE-SW; 42m NW-SE) which is traversed across the NW edge by a field boundary running NE-SW. Referred to by O’Kelly (1944, 49) as Earthwork Type A and described as: ‘A circular earthen platform surrounded by a fosse. There is no trace of a bank. The entrance is on the E side where the fosse is interrupted and there is a ramp leading to the platform. The overall diameter is 120’ (37m)’. This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
