Na Gleannta Theas holds a small circular enclosure named Cloghaun on old maps, its earthen bank strengthened by upright slabs along a west-facing slope at the foot of Ballysitteragh mountain. It is the kind of place where people may have stood, watched the sea or kept something hidden, long before surveyors gave it a number.

Named 'Fort' on the OS Fair Plan and 'Cloghaun' on the 2nd edition of the OS map, this site consists of a small circular enclosure measuring 7 to 8m in diameter internally. It is enclosed by an earthen bank which varies from 2 to 4m in width and from .4 to 1.6m in height and which is revetted intermittently with numerous slabs set upright or on edge. It is situated on a W facing slope at the foot of Ballysitteragh mountain. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter.
