Enclosure in Kilree (knocktopher By.)

An oval enclosure (dims. c. 36m N-W; c. 47m N-S) identified as the cropmark of a fosse on aerial photographs (CUCAP AYK063, 9 July 1969; BDI038, 14 July 1970). On the OS 6-inch maps (1839 1st ed. and 1947 revision) a field boundary is indicated running along the W edge of the enclosure, from SSW-W. An enclosure (KK023-049001-) conjoins to the E and another enclosure (KK023-049003-), also identified as a cropmark on the aerial photographs, is located c. 30m to the WNW.
