What is recorded here

Kilcorney is a dense cluster of circular stone enclosures on a north-facing karst slope in County Clare, where one twenty-metre ring sits inside a larger boundary. The nested walls and possible house remains suggest a settled community rather than a temporary camp, yet the exact era and daily life remain unrecorded. The contiguous enclosures imply neighbours, shared fields and repeated choices to live on that exposed plateau.

On a N-facing slope at the N extent of a karst plateau and within an extensive field system (CL009-021001-). A circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) defined by a stone wall and within a larger enclosure (CL009-234002-) visible on Digital Globe (2011-2013) and on OSi orthophotography (MapGenie 2013-2018). Remains of a possible house (CL009-234001-) lie inside the S perimeter. Many contiguous settlement enclosures occupy the N slopes of the plateau immediately to the SE.
