Enclosure in Gortgarrigan

Situated at the W edge of a fairly level shelf on the valley floor of the Bonet River, with a N-S section of the stream c. 140m to the W. Grass-covered subrectangular area (int. dims 15m E-W; 12m N-S) defined by an earthen bank at N (Wth 3.5m; H 0.5m) and S (Wth 3m; H 0.2-0.3m) and by a slight scarp down to the interior (H 0.2m) at E, and an external scarp (H 1m) at W. The bank at N is on top of a steep internal scarp (Wth 5m; H 1m), which may be a quarry-face. No fosse or entrance has been identified. Two subrectangular enclosures (LE011-050004-) are c. 30m to the NE and the three features could be small fields.
