Enclosure in Foilmore

An oval enclosure, marked on the OS maps, was located at a sharp bend on the N bank of the Ferta river. A shallow depression now marks the location of the site, which was ploughed out during the 1960s. An area of overgrowth and boulders occurs at the NW sector of the depression, and at SE it rises 1m to external ground level. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
