What is recorded here

On a NW-facing slope of Slieve Elva at the SW extent of a large field system (CL004-016001-) and at the S end of a cluster of many cashels and enclosures. A subcircular enclosure (c. 70m NE-SW; c. 50m NW-SE) defined by a bank of earth and stone visible on Ordnance Survey ortho photography (2013-2018). Faunarooska Castle (CL00-016007-) lies c. 100m to the NE. A subcircular early-medieval ringfort (rath) located on a slope of Slieve Elva, associated with a field system and nearby cashels. Local tradition links such sites to fairy dwellings, with some folklore suggesting they were homes of the "Good People" or portals to the Otherworld.
