Enclosure in Cousane

In rough hill grazing, in a hollow on a W-facing slope and with views of Bantry Bay to the W. A circular area (diam. 10m) is defined by the remains of the lower courses of a largely collapsed stone wall (T 1.1-1.5m; H 0.2-1m) displaying evidence of an inner and outer row of contiguous, upright, stone slabs. The level interior is raised (H 0.4m) at W and cut into the upsloping bank (max. D 1m) at E to compensate for the hillslope. The wall is best along the W arc.
