Enclosure in Cousane is a circular earthen ring in West Cork, marked by local tradition as a famine burial place beneath its conifer-planted centre. The story is not decoration; it is the reason the circle still matters. A child may have been lost here during the hunger years, carried by family or neighbour to this slope above the Owngar River. If so, the conifers are not covering a mistake. They are standing guard over what the land refused to release.

In pasture on W-facing slope to S of Owngar River. Circular area (12m N-S; 11.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.7m). Interior planted with conifers. Local tradition of famine burials here.
