What is recorded here
At the foot of a terrace on the S slopes of Gortaclare Mountain. Depicted as one of two enclosures on a plan of the area (Eogan 2002, 115). Some mound walls are adjacent to the S and the area is part of an extensive field system (CL006-0042001-). Described by Carey (2009, 132-3) as an enclosure, the extent of which could not be ascertained due to heavy hazel scrub overgrowth. At SE a gap (Wth 0.5m) defined by 2 slabs (H 1m) may define the entrance. The second enclosure (CL006-045007-) lies c. 35m to the SW.
