What is recorded here

Enclosure in Castlegar East is a circular boundary, thirty-seven metres across, reduced to a faint scarp and a band of nettles that may mark a lost fosse. It sits on gently undulating ground in County Galway, one hundred and twenty metres from a ringfort, large enough to have held a household, a herds or a small community, yet so worn that certainty leaves it. What remains is shape without substance, a circle the land nearly forgot, waiting for someone to walk its edge and admit the unknown.

On gently undulating ground. The almost completely levelled remains of a circular enclosure (D c. 37m) defined by a very slight scarp, outside of which a band of nettles possibly marks the line of a fosse.
