Enclosure in Carrowntryla

In flat poorly drained grazing land. Known locally as 'Race Park Fort' (Neary 1914, 116, no. 87), it consists of a large oval enclosure (E-W 71m, N-S 56m), in fair condition, defined by a narrow bank and shallow external fosse. Traces of an internal fosse are also visible from N to E. A field boundary cuts across the monument at NW and SW. Neary (ibid.) considered that it 'may have been a pinfold'.
