What is recorded here

Bun An Churraigh is a phantom enclosure. It appears in official lists but never on maps, and a 1996 inspection found no walls, ditches or earthworks at all. The real place is a ruined settlement beside pasture, looking down Bunacurry Harbour, while the enclosure exists only because someone told a form it was there.
Located in pasture, adjacent to a ruined vernacular settlement, overlooking Bunacurry Harbour. Not indicated on the 1838 and 1919 OS 6-inch maps. Listed in the SMR (1991) and RMP (1997) as an enclosure based on information received by the SMR. An inspection in 1996 found no evidence of an enclosure.
