Enclosure in Baile An Teampaill

(7) This circular enclosure, possibly a hut foundation, was recently revealed when the overlying peat was cut away. It measures 6m in diameter internally and its wall, now for the most part collapsed, is constructed of drystone masonry with some low orthostats forming the base of the inner face. The wall is 1.2m wide and up to .9m high. A possible entrance at S is defined by upright stones set .2m apart. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
