What is recorded here
Fort Hill in Knocknakielt, County Derry, is an enclosure whose age and exact purpose remain unknown. The official record marks only a point at the centre of the site, leaving the hill itself to imagine. Perhaps people lived there, watched the land or kept something hidden before memory faded. The name still points back to a fort, even when evidence no longer does.
