What is recorded here
Emma Davis was born in Bangor, County Down, on 4 July 1987, and later became Ireland's first Olympic triathlete when her 15th place at the 2008 World Championships secured her ranking points. She raced in Beijing with two fractures in her sacrum from a bike crash during training in Matsue, Japan, just a week before the Games, and still finished 37th. That act of stubbornness belongs to the road, the water and the city that made her.
