Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Muckanagh, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular grass-covered area just off the crest of a gentle southeast-facing slope overlooking Lough Kilglass. An overgrown earthen bank and outer fosse define the perimeter, while traces of external facing-stones remain at the north. Two other raths sit within two hundred metres to the west and southwest.
Just off the crest of a gentle SE-facing slope overlooking Lough Kilglass, which is c. 150m to the SE. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 32.3m N-S; 31.8m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.5-3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.7m) with traces of external facing-stones at N, which has been reduced to a scarp (H 1.1-2m) NE-SSW, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 2.5-3.5m; Wth of base 1.5-2m; D 0.2-0.5m). There is no identifiable original entrance. Rath (RO023-039----) is c. 170m to the WNW and rath (RO023-040----) is c. 140m to the SW. Archaeological testing (07E0618) c. 100m to the E failed to produce any related material, (Henry 2010d).
