Situated at the edge of a plateau overlooking a NE-SW stream c. 60m to the W. This is a circular scrub-covered area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a flat bottomed moat (at S: Wth of top 7.5m; Wth of base 4.5m; D 1.5-2m; at NW: Wth of top 6.5m; Wth of base 3m; D 2m), with an outer field bank SW-N that has been removed N-E. There is an entrance causeway (Wth 2.5m) at SE, possibly recent, and an older entrance causeway (Wth 1.5m) at SW. Archaeological testing (06E0830) immediately to the E produced no related material (McLoughlin 2008).
