Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Clooneen (hartland), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of a low ridge overlooking a south-north section of the Scramoge River, about 180m to the east. A circular grass-covered area measures 35.3m north-south and 33.9m east-west, bounded by an earthen bank and hedge with an outer fosse. The bank is now incorporated into a field bank, the fosse re-cut as a drain, and a modern 8m entrance opens at the southwest.
On the crest of a low ridge overlooking a S-N section of the Scramoge River, c. 180m to the E. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 35.3m N-S; 33.9m E-W) defined by an earthen bank and hedge (Wth 3.9-4.2m; int. H 0.5-0.6m; ext. H 0.7-1m) with an outer fosse (Wth of top 4m; Wth of base 2.2-2.4m; D 0.5-0.9m). The bank is incorporated into a field bank (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.3m) and the fosse re-cut as a drain NE-ESE. There is a modern entrance (Wth 8m) at SW. Rath (RO023-185----) is c. 190m to the S.
