Ellers Mill blue plaque

This blue commemorative plaque records: Ellers Mill. In 1896, Ellers Mill was sold as a water powered cotton mill and played an important part in the early industrial growth of Ulverston. Cotton spinning continued in the town until the American Civil War of 1862 caused a shortage of raw materials, resulting in a decline of trade.
