This blue commemorative plaque records: Lady Betty Hastings of Ledston Hall was a lifelong patron of charities for education, the promotion of Christian knowledge and the relief of poverty. In 1721 when the scheme for building this church was revived, her magnificent donation of £1000 ensured its success. 1682-1739 Recorded plaque organisation: Leeds Civic Trust.
