Linked to Saint Anthony of Padua, the Franciscan Friary in Elgin was a centre for pilgrimage and healing in the medieval period, with traditions of miraculous cures associated with the veneration of relics. The site, though now in ruins, was historically significant as a place of spiritual retreat and devotion in northeast Scotland.
