Egenaes (possibly): North Sea

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Egenaes (possibly): North Sea as Craft (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Egenaes* was a 19th-century wooden sailing vessel, likely of Scottish origin, wrecked in the North Sea during a storm in 1847. It carried a cargo of coal and grain, which was lost, though no lives were reported lost. The wreck remains significant as a well-preserved example of early Victorian maritime trade in Scottish coastal waters.
