This white commemorative plaque records: This building was specifically designed for the Liberal Club in 1894 by the Architect Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944). It was his first complete Georgian building and was built with a mortgage provided by Arthur Chapman of Crooksbury, Chairman of the Farnham Liberals.

Sir Edwin Lutyens was a prominent British architect known for his significant contributions to early 20th-century architecture, including designing New Delhi's governmental buildings; this Liberal Club building marks his first complete Georgian structure. Arthur Chapman, as the Chairman of Farnham Liberals, facilitated the construction by providing a mortgage for the project designed by Lutyens.
