What is recorded here

Castlehill holds a nineteenth-century church and hall, not a distant myth but a working room for human ceremony. The stones may have listened to singing, argument, grief and joy, while the city pressed close around them. Tolbooth St John's still belongs to Edinburgh, and the address preserves the shape of that local faith.
