The Chapter House at Holyrood Abbey in Edinburgh was built in the late 12th or early 13th century by the canons of the Augustinian abbey founded by King David I of Scotland in 1128. It is important as a key surviving element of the historic abbey, which was a major religious and royal site in Scottish history.
