Craiglockhart Castle stands as a medieval tower house on Glenlockhart Road, its stones marking centuries of Edinburgh history. The structure still holds the shape of defensive ambition, though no public gate is certain. Whoever built it understood that height and shadow could keep danger at bay.

Craiglockhart Castle was originally built in the 16th century by the Haliburton family, a prominent Scottish noble family. It is remembered for its historical association with the 1st Duke of Wellington, who stayed there during the Napoleonic Wars, and for its well-preserved medieval tower house structure.
