Craigmillar Castle Gardens and Craigmillar Court occupy a narrow Edinburgh strip where stone, soil and memory still tangle. The official record treats the site as a twentieth-century point block, yet the name carries older weight: a castle, gardens, court and human ambition compressed into one local address. That is enough to imagine lives moving through the place, adjusting it, forgetting it, remembering it again.

Craigmillar Castle, near Edinburgh, was originally built in the late 14th century by the Douglas family, a powerful Scottish noble house, and later held by the Stewart kings of Scotland. The castle is historically significant as a royal residence and for its role in Scottish medieval history, including its association with Mary, Queen of Scots.
