Castle Wynd South holds 19th-century flats and tenements where Edinburgh still stacks its lives vertically. The stones remember loud kitchens, narrow stairs and shared walls, not empty map points. People may have loved the small spaces because they forced neighbourliness, or hated them because they never stopped listening. Either way, the wynd kept both truths alive.
