Eden Castle in Aberdeenshire is a ruined 16th-century Z-plan stronghold belonging to the Meldrums, built around 1542 and repaired in 1676 and 1700. Its southwest tower still holds the entrance, guard room and cellar stairs, while the north face has partly collapsed into the moor. The hall measured ten metres across, large enough for feast lights and argument, but no one lives there now except memory and weather.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Eden Castle as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Eden Castle was built in the 13th century by the de Umfraville family, a powerful noble lineage in medieval Scotland. It is remembered for its strategic position in the Scottish Borders and its role in the region's turbulent history of border conflicts.
