East Raffles stands in Dumfries and Galloway as a medieval tower house, its stones marked by centuries of weather and forgotten lives. The structure may have sheltered families, stored grain, or watched roads below, but no clear memory survives to confirm which. Its endurance suggests people valued the site enough to build tall and leave it standing long after they disappeared.
