This blue commemorative plaque records: East Cliff Cottage Hotel, built 1895, was home to British actor James Stewart better known as the film and theatre star Stewart Granger 1913-1993. Notable for the films Scaramouche and Beau Brummell. His mother Mrs. Lablanche Stewart owned this property until 1979. Recorded plaque organisation: Bournemouth Borough Council.
East Cliff Cottage Hotel, built in 1895, was owned by Frederica Eliza Lablanche Stewart and served as the childhood home of her son, British actor James Stewart, known professionally as Stewart Granger, who starred in notable films such as Scaramouche and Beau Brummell.
