Earthwork near Picton Castle

Marian and her daughter walked past Picton Castle on a bright morning, laughing at the small ridge beside the road. She called it a forgotten kitchen garden, but it may be a boundary marker or a burial mound waiting for recognition. The girl touched the grass and imagined children chasing balls inside an old ring. They left the place untouched, carrying wonder instead of certainty.
