Earl of Moira

Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Earl of Moira as Wreck from the Ôl-ganoloesol period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The Earl of Moira was a British steamship that sank in 1862 off the coast of Anglesey, Wales, after colliding with the French steamer Ville de Paris in dense fog. The wreck resulted in the loss of 464 lives, making it one of the deadliest maritime disasters in Welsh history and prompting later improvements in maritime safety and fog signaling.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
