Dysart

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dysart as Church (12th Century), Hermitage (religious) (early Medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Dysart is associated with Saint Fillan, a 7th-century Irish monk and hermit who is said to have founded a monastery and holy site in the area. The site is linked to traditions of healing and pilgrimage, with local folklore recounting miraculous cures at its holy well.
