What is recorded here
Brachman Quarry cuts through Dupplin Castle Policies in Perth and Kinross, its exact position known within ten metres though no human date or named event remains attached to the scar. The rock may have fallen for road metal, castle repair or private hunger, while men and women watched the earth open like a wound. What was taken is gone, but the hole still holds the shape of that hunger, waiting for someone brave enough to look inside.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dupplin Castle Policies, Brachman Quarry as Quarry (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
