Dunrobin Castle, Tower Lodge stands in Highland as a 19th Century house, recorded without claiming that anyone may enter or that it still belongs to a living family. The main castle already dominated the skyline, so this smaller lodge may have served guests, keepers or workers who needed a separate door into the estate. Its exact purpose has faded, but the chance that it gave ordinary people their own room beside a grand castle makes the place more interesting than a bare label.

Dunrobin Castle, Tower Lodge was built in the 19th century as part of the larger Dunrobin Castle estate, which was developed by the Earls of Sutherland, a prominent Scottish noble family. It is remembered as an example of 19th-century domestic architecture in northern Scotland and reflects the expansion and embellishment of historic estates during the period of the "Highland Clearances."
