Dunrobin Castle, Terraced Garden, stands in Highland, Scotland, within Sutherland and Golspie. Its terraced beds may have held roses, herbs or rare plants for castle kitchens and shows. The steps and borders still suggest a place where people walked, tended and admired beauty above the ordinary.

Dunrobin Castle, including its terraced garden, was built by the Earls of Sutherland, with significant construction phases occurring in the 13th century and major expansions in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is important as one of the most complete examples of a Scottish medieval castle and as the family seat of the Earls and later Dukes of Sutherland.
