Castleblair Works on Castleblair Lane in Dunfermline, Fife, is a layered industrial site recorded as a 19th-century linen mill and weaving shed, a 20th-century silk factory, and 20th-century engineering works. The lane may have carried flax, thread, oil, metal noise and human breath through changing rooms, machines and vats. What is certain is that the place belongs to several centuries of making, not one clean event.
